I'm ambivilent about these images. Not sure its fair. Sure the president is the "leader", yet in many ways he is also at the mercy many forces, such as economics, party, special interests, and so forth. Further, he does not act within a vacuum, but is surrounded by many who also must be accounted for.
True, the buck stops at his desk, but we put the buck there to begin with. After all, the American culture and machine must be fed, it would be naive to think that there are no self serving motives for international actions.
Perhaps one side effect of this disastrous tragic Iraq undertaking is that 60s radicalism will make a come back. Please, we don't need adolescent posturings and bleeding concern for some imaginary "the people". Thats almost as bad as the pompose flatulence spewing from the right wing apologists in the media.
